Any military/veteran connection or are you riding in honor of a military member/veteran?

JM:  I am participating in this event in honor of the Veterans that ASAP has lost.  Morgan Suit, Jim Scroggs, and Dale Norman, in particular, who have been part of our motorcycle safety escort for ASAP’s Cycle to the Sea for the last 10-15 years.

Paralympic or other medals for cycling, etc.?

JM:  ASAP is a Paralympic Sport Club through the USOC and provides several Paralympic Sporting opportunities in North Carolina and its surrounding states.  ASAP boasts several nationally competitive cyclists, a competitive rugby team, and 3 US Disabled Waterski Team Members that brought home the GOLD for the US for the 4th consecutive time.

Personal reason for making the ride?

JM:  I thoroughly enjoy being a part of programs and events that assist others to reach their potential and achieve their goals.  I look forward to watching the community come together on this ride across the country to support all of those that have supported this country by their military service or by sending their message of I can do anything to everyone across the nation.

Message to others with physical challenges about the benefits of participation in Adaptive Sports.

JM:  Work hard and follow your dreams, you can accomplish anything.
